Meet Our Team

Olga M. Gvozdenovic,  OMG Basketball  Founder
Founder of OMG Basketball Academy. Olga is a Chicago native and a Loyola Academy graduate. Olga earned the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champion Player of the Year and McDonald All American accolades. Olga earned a scholarship to Duke University.

Olga's first summer job coaching basketball in the driveway of an 8th grade girl's house in summer of 1999 sparked the idea to start a girls basketball program that reflected fundamental skills while empowering self confidence in young girls. 

After working out of several gyms, driveways and public parks for years, Olga started teaching group classes in 2009 at North Shore Racquet club.  In 2013 Olga started Vika Chicago which is now OMG Basketball Academy.  A program comprised of girls only fundamental clinics, in-house leagues, travel teams, and 3 on 3 basketball tournaments.

In 2015 Olga expanded OMG Basketball Academy in Chicago to Loyola Academy and Dallas, Texas. In 2017 OMG Basketball Academy added a second gym to its program Mother McAuley, Chicago Illinois and in 2019 added a third gym DePaul College Prep Highschool to the program.

Olga was members of Duke's University women's basketball and women's tennis team. She was a member of three ACC Basketball Tournament Championships, two ACC regular basketball season titles, two trips to the NCAA Women's Basketball Sweet Sixteen, and one trip to Elite Eight for NCAA Women Tennis Tournament. Olga is an inductee in Loyola Academy Hall of Fame, Girls Athletic Conference Hall of Fame and Illinois Basketball Association as a player and teammate for 2 state championships at Loyola Academy.

Sarah Bolger-Ferris, Consultative Coach

Sara Bolger is a Chicago native that graduated from Resurrection High school in 2000 and went on to Loyola University.  She coached at Norte Dame for Girls from 2006 to 2008 and Resurrection Higschoool 2008-2009 and 2012-2015.

Sarah works full time for Abbott as a manager and own her own Health and wellness business.
Liz Bondi,Consultative Coach

 

Elizabeth (Liz) Bondi grew up in Park Ridge, IL where she attended Maine South High School. At Maine South, she placed 2nd in state in tennis for doubles and made All-State teams for tennis, basketball, and softball. She graduated from DePauw University, where she was a member of the tennis and basketball teams.  In 2007, she won a NCAA Singles National Championship in tennis and was a member of the NCAA National Championship basketball team.  In addition she received the Honda Award for Division III Female Athlete of the Year.

After graduation, she played on the ITF tennis pro circuit and worked as a tennis pro and basketball instructor. She earned a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a certificate in Healthcare Administration and Management from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2015, where she was recognized as a Swanson Scholar. Thereafter, she completed her residency at the Yale Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program, serving as chief resident during her final year. During her time at Yale, she completed the Bako Podiatric Dermatology Mini Fellowship in Georgia.  She has also presented research at the Society for Tennis Medicine and Science World Congress Meeting. 

Dr. Bondi currently lives in the Northern suburbs. She enjoys staying active by playing tennis, paddle tennis, skiing, running and cycling.  She has and continues to participate in marathons and Ironman triathlons.

Sophia Gatton, Consultative Coach

Sophia Gatton is a Chicago native that graduated from University of Chicago Laboratory High School 2017.  Sophia was a thre year captain,  Independent School League Player of the Year, and IBCA All State Honorable Mention in 2012.   Sophia  went on to play for four years at the Grinnell College. There she helped lead a program-turnaround . She holds program records for most assists

She earned her degree in  2017 and is currently working in Operations Management for McMaster-Carr in Chicago.

Kelly Naughton, Coach 

Kelly is from the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 2013. She earned a Division I scholarship to play basketball at Jacksonville State University and was the starting point guard/shooting guard there for four years. After she graduated, she continued pursuing basketball and became the freshmen basketball coach at Elk Grove High School in the 2016-2017 season. She is currently a Doctoral Graduate student at Midwestern University and is studying to become an Occupational Therapist. 

Claire Raphael, Coach

Claire Raphael is a recent graduate of DePaul University where she obtained her Bachelors in Accountancy and Masters in Audit and Advisory Services. She recently obtained her CPA license while working at Protiviti as an Internal Audit Financial Advisory. Claire played basketball all through out high school at Maine South and played Club Basketball at DePaul University where she was starting point guard and Captain. Claire has always enjoyed playing, refereeing, and coaching the game of basketball.  Claire's goal is to share her passion for the game within the girls at OMG and help to develop their skills.

Laura Sobieszczyk-McGuiness,  Coach

Laura is a Chicago native that graduated from  Loyola Academy Highschool '99 and  earned a scholarship to DePaul University.   She graduated DePaul in 2003 as leader of academics and athletes. Laura is a four times Commissioners Honor Role Conference USA. Laura is a  sixth leading three point scorer in DePaul's record books with 129, tied for 24th with most games played of 101, and most steels in Conference USA.

Laura helped guided Depaul to a Conference USA Championship and NCAA tournament appearance.

She took her career in education to the next level by earning a Master’s degree in education from Northeastern University.
Katie Murphy- O’Connor, Coach 
Katie is a Chicago native who graduated from Loyola Academy in 1999 where she won 2 state IHSA Basketball Championships. She earned a B.A. from Marquette University and a Master in School Counseling at DePaul University. She served as the school counselor at Mt Carmel High School on Chicago South Side for five year. Currently Katie is at home with her four young children in Wilmette, Illinois.

Adie Morrill, Coach in Training
Adie is from Gurnee, Illinois and a graduate of  Loyola Academy in 2018. Adie was a mentor at OMG Basketball Academy before starting her coach in training program.  Adie played basketball for four years at Loyola Academy. She lead her basketball team to two  Regional Championships her junior and senior seasons. Adie is currently a sophmore at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. Adie takes great pride in being a lockdown defender and offensive playmaker. Adie is studying Biology as preparation for working as a health science professional post graudation.
Julia Spuria, Coach in Training
Julia is from Park Ridge Illinois. She graduated from Maine South in 2016. Julia was a mentor at OMG Basketball Academy before starting her coach in training program. . Julia is currently attending Michigan State University and is studying hospitality  business. Julia played varsity basketball for four years at Maine South. She also played varsity lacrosse and softball. Julia's favorite memory from basketball was winning regional's in 2015. Julia is known for her ability to take charges on defense and her range on the offensive end. Julia is playing club rugby and club basketball at Michigan State.
Olivia Latreille, Coach in Training
Olivia is from Park Ridge Illinois and graduate from Main South High School in 2017 . Olivia was a three sport athlete all four years at Maine South.  Olivia played basketball, volleyball and soccer while coaching and mentoring for OMG Basketball Academy.  She was a three year varsity letterwoman and Captain of the basketball team.  Olivia lead the team in rebounds her junior and senior year. Olivia lead the team to two regional championships and received All Tournament team awards her senior year.  Olivia is a junior at Washington University in St Louis. Olivia plays club basketball and volleyball at Washington University and is studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Bioinformatics.
Nina Anderson, Coach in Training
Nina Anderson played basketball and softball all four years at Maine South and a recent graduate of Illinois Wesleyan. Nina played four years at Illionis Wesleyan and lead her team to conference championship her senior year. Nina led team in points, rebounds, steals, assists and blocked shots her senior year. 
Nicole Amen, Coach in Training
Nicole Amen is from Northbrook, Illinois and gradated from Glenbrook North in 2018. Nicole was a mentor at OMG Basketball Academy  during her four years at Glenbrook North Highschool. Nicole was a four year member of the varsity basketball team as well as the varsity softball team. She was a two year caption of her basketball team. Nicole is a coach in training while she is attending University of South Carolina and is studying at their school of business.
Hannah Schilling, Coach in Training 
Hannah is a freshman at University of Wisconsin. She was a two sport athlete in soccer and basketball at Maine South High School in Park Ridge. She has been on varsity basketball and soccer all our years of high school. She was the captain of the soccer team as a junior and will be captain for both soccer and basketball her senior year.  As a senior Hannah is looking at and applying to colleges and plans to go into physics and/or engineering.

Ave is a junior  at DePaul College Prep. Mariella started her basketball career iun 4th grade. Out of all the sports she has played during grammer school and highschool her favorite sport is basketball . Ava's goal is to play college basketball.

Pasier is a sophomore at Maine South Highschool. She is playing basketball and softball for Main South Teams.  She has been playing basketball since first grade and has played for OMG Basketball academy since she was in four grade.  Alight only a freshman Pasier goal is to play dual sports all through high school at Main South.
